Most construction work within the City of Cape Town jurisdiction requires the submission of building plans. There are however provisions for smaller building works which do not alter the structure or use of a building. These are called minor works. Permission to proceed is still required for some minor works, and it is always worthwhile discussing the work with the City Building Plans office prior to starting the work.
